Breakfast

Early morning tea is available on request.  Breakfast is usually served in bedrooms between 07:00 and -8:15, according to each resident’s preference.  As far as possible, residents will not be woken earlier than they wish.

 

A medicine round is undertaken between 07:00 and 07:30.

Bathing

Assisted baths and showers are available for residents who cannot manage a “normal” bath. We have equipment to assist residents bathing in their own ensuite.   When not having a full bath, residents who need help with hygiene needs, will be helped to wash as fully as possible in the privacy of their own bathrooms.  Help will be given night and morning to those residents needing assistance with personal hygiene.  This may be increased as necessary for incontinent residents.  Consideration will be given to residents’ preference regarding when they arise.

 

 

Morning Coffee

Morning coffee or tea and a choice of biscuits is served between 10:00 and 11:00 either in the lounge or to residents’ rooms.

 

Lunch
Lunch is served between 12:00 and 13:00 either at the dining table or in residents’ rooms.  A medicine round is also done at this time.  After lunch residents will be encouraged and assisted to have a rest either on their beds or in an armchair if they prefer.

 

Afternoon Tea

Afternoon tea and a choice of cakes is served at 15:00 either in the lounge or in resident’s rooms.  Any visitors will also be offered and served tea.

 

Supper

Supper is served to residents who require assistance with feeding between 17:00 and 18:00 residents who wish to have supper at the dining table or in their rooms will be served between 18:00 and 19:00.

 

Retiring

Those residents who wish to retire early i.e. before 20:00 will be helped to wash and change into their nightwear by the day staff.  The night staff who start their shift at 20:00 will attend to the other residents who wish to stay up and they should inform the staff when they are ready to retire and will receive assistance as required.

 

Hot drinks eg Horlicks, Ovaltine etc will be served from 21:00.

 

 

Activities

Mondays

A non-denominational service with a local preacher

 

 

Tuesday

Activity for those wishing to participate in a variety of on-going games, bingo is played regularly for fun as well as many other games designed to activate memory.

 

 

Thursday

Activity therapy as above.

 

Other activities include special tea parties, open days, and Christmas entertainment.
